JavaJazz 2009: Jason Mraz’s only 5 meters away!

Tags: ,

OK, so this is my first time ever experience going to a musical concert (not quite sure, but i think so). And this is the one and only male solo singer that I adore so far, not to mention Craig David (since everybody thought he’s gay :p). When i heard the news on 7th January, i bought the ticket online without thinking. Yep, it’s the early bird price, why should i think more? hehe.

As much as I’m getting too excited to tell the whole story from the very beginning, I think I’ll just make a quick review here.

There was a moment when luckily i didn’t have to march in long queue for redeeming the tickets at Sultan’s Lobby. And how frustating the traffic was, at the day of the performance (6 March). And then to the moment where we (me, my sister, and her friend) sat along in an entrance queue for approx. 3 hours!! But it’s unregrettable because we could all enjoy while he’s having some sound-check :D Finally, the moment where the 3-hours-waiting turned out nice, and WE WERE ABLE TO WATCH HIM FROM THE 1st ROW! it’s only 5 meters away and no wonder all the girls kept on screaming like hell.

How cool is that, huh? The only thing that weren’t going on as i expected: He didn’t perform “Live High” and “If It Kills Me” :( But overall he’s just so talented, got some funny stage-act, and I’m speechless. Speechless to say when this quote came out of his mouth, right before he performed “A Dynamo of Volition”:

“Well lemme just say this: Don’t ever let your mind, stop you from having a good time!”

Here’s the list of songs I knew that he actually played (in random order): Make It Mine, Remedy (I won’t Worry) medley with OASIS’ Wonderwall, Bella Luna, Sleeping to Dream, Lucky featuring Dira (said she was the best female jazz singer), A Beautiful Mess, Butterfly, and of course, the international anthem: I’m Yours.

And here’s some nice picture taken by Bayu, edited by me :p

And right when i checked the “Official Razz of  Jason Mrant”, there’s a new post about the tour few hours ago. Wow, never thought he’d write something about Indonesia, and even gave it as the post title, “The Indo Endo” :)

Nice performance, Jason!
